Rite Way Solutions utilizes the disinfectant properties of UV-c light to convert an air-conditioning unit into a powerful air sanitizer. Warm and contaminated air is pulled in through the top of the unit, where it is then cooled via the unit’s cooling coil. The products we install immerse the air around the cooling coil in UV-c light, sanitizing it during the process. The cool air is then dispensed by the air-conditioning unit free of viruses, bacteria, molds, and odors.

ASHRAE recommends changing filters in HVAC systems according to the typical schedule, but also can be left in place longer than normal. Extending the time between filter changes is a strategy being employed during the current COVID-19 pandemic. However, when you do change your filters, a MERV 13 or better should be used. Research has shown that the particle size of the SARS-CoV-2 virus is around 0.1 μm (micrometer).
ASHRAE currently recommends using a minimum MERV 13 filter, which is at least 85% efficient at capturing particles in 1 μm to 3 μm size range. A MERV 14 filter is at least 90% efficient at capturing those same particles.
Rite Way Solutions recommends using a filter with a Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV) of 13, but a MERV 14 (or better) filter Is preferred.
